FAQS
What is an "Encapsulated Bottom"?
It is a heavy-duty sandwich base where a thick layer of aluminum is "encapsulated" between two layers of stainless steel. This ensures rapid, even heat distribution and prevents "hot spots" that burn food.
Can I use this set on an Induction cooktop?
Yes. The outer layer of the encapsulated base is made of magnetic stainless steel, making it compatible with Induction, Gas, Electric, and Halogen stoves.
Is the glass lid breakable?
The lid is made of toughened tempered glass, which is much stronger than regular glass. However, it can still break if dropped or subjected to "thermal shock" (moving it directly from a hot stove to ice-cold water).
Why is there a small hole in the glass lid?
That is a steam vent. It allows a controlled amount of pressure to escape, preventing the lid from "rattling" or liquid from boiling over while you monitor your cooking.
Why are there white spots or a rainbow tint on the bottom?
White spots are mineral deposits from hard water; the rainbow tint is "heat tint" from oxidation. Both are harmless and can be removed instantly with lemon juice or vinegar.
Is the Cook n Serve set dishwasher safe?
Yes, both the stainless steel pots and the glass lids are dishwasher safe. To maintain the mirror shine, we recommend using a mild detergent.
Can I put these in the oven?
We do not recommend putting the set with glass lids in the oven.
